Funding: Helping End Homelessness Relaunch
Following a pause due to the onset of COVID-19, The National Lottery Community Fund is pleased to confirm today the resumption of our Helping End Homelessness funding programme.
The programme will award grants to strategic projects that operate across one or more local authorities, seeking to redesign services to ensure that homelessness is rare, brief and non-recurrent. Projects will be delivered by multi-agency partnerships and with a person-centred approach focusing on the individuals experiencing homelessness. We want applicants to work with those who would benefit from their project to identify, plan and deliver activities that matter to them. This goes beyond consultation and empowers those individuals by giving them an equal voice in the process.
We will email you the contact details and information of all organisations who have registered their interest in forming a partnership early next week.
A total budget of £10m will be available and to ensure we don’t restrict the scale and ambition of applicants there is no maximum grant size. Projects are expected to last for between five and seven years as we believe that longer term funding may be better suited to the needs that many potential beneficiaries are likely to have.
We expect all partnerships to include the local authority/authorities of their area. Other organisations that we anticipate would be a part of the multi-sector partnerships include housing associations and the private rental sector, third sector, and other essential statutory services. We expect to only accept one application for each local authority area, including those wanting to work across more than one local authority area, to ensure local organisations work together to develop solutions rather than compete against each other for funds.

As the programme resumes, we will be hosting three digital events to support applicants and partnerships. These events will build on previous ones held as part of the initial launch and will focus on the development and approaches of local partnerships with breakout rooms based on local authority areas. Organisations are invited to book a space for each local authority area they wish to work in. The events will be held on:
November 3rd, 2-30pm – For organisations looking to form a partnership in Anglesey, Gwynedd, Conwy, Denbighshire, Flintshire, and/or Wrexham.
November 4th, 2-30pm – For organisations looking to form a partnership in Powys, Ceredigion, Pembrokeshire, Carmarthenshire, Swansea, Neath Port Talbot, and/or Bridgend.
November 5th, 2-30pm – For organisations looking to form a partnership in Rhondda Cynon Taf, Merthyr Tydfil, Caerphilly, Torfaen, Blaenau Gwent, Monmouthshire, Newport, Cardiff, and/or The Vale of Glamorgan.
