Funding

CAVO SMALL GRANT SCHEME click here

Cavo holds a full range of funding resources. Current copies of most of the major funding directories are held. Together with the two computer programmes, Funder Finder and Grant Finder, local knowledge and access to the internet, Development Officers are able to advise on possible sources of funding both at a national and a local level.

The development team always try to strive to give the most up to date information to voluntary and not for profit groups especially in relation to funding. This is achieved by CAVO updating computer software and having access to the most up to date reference books.

CAVO also administers the Good Health Grant Scheme which aims to provide one-off grants, up to a maximum of £5000, to voluntary organisations operating in Ceredigion and is administered on behalf of The Ceredigion Local Health Board. The Scheme although providing financial support can also create awareness of wider issues faced by voluntary groups.

CAVO is a member on the Ceredigion Objective 1 Partnership Management Board where representatives from the voluntary, private and public sector work together to ensure that Ceredigion benefits from the opportunities offered by Objective 1 funding.

GUIDELINES
Grant Gwelliant a Mentergarwch
CAVO
Enterprise and Improvement Grant

BACKGROUND
The CAVO Enterprise and Improvement Grant Scheme, funded by the
Welsh Assembly Governments Community Facilities and Activities Programme, has been established to support community activity in Ceredigion.

AIM
The main aim of the CAVO Enterprise and Improvement Grant Scheme is to support local groups to establish and develop a diversity of projects which create stronger communities.

WHAT PROJECTS ARE WE LOOKING TO FUND?
Consideration will ONLY be given to projects which fall under one or more of these four main grant priorities:
1. Income generation
2. Increasing capacity
3. Supporting social enterprise
4. Introducing quality standards

Your project should also embrace at least one of the following:
• Equal access for disabled people;
• Environmental benefits;
• The development of equal opportunity and environmental policies and practices;
• Involvement of all members of the community;
• Improvement to the provision and understanding of Information Technology;
• The recognition and celebration of culture and heritage and the encouragement of the development of bi-lingual, multi-lingual and multi-cultural communities;
• Development of capacity through training;
• Improvements to the well-being of the community.

Both capital and revenue costs will be considered.

WHO CAN APPLY?
Your group can apply for a grant from the CAVO Enterprise and Improvement Grant Scheme if you:
• are a not-for-profit group;
• have a constitution or set of rules;
• have a bank or building society account in the name of your group which requires at least 2 signatures;
• are working in and involving people from Ceredigion, or if outside the area, the activity must be of direct benefit to Ceredigion.

During the assessment of your application, the following criteria will be considered:
• Your project meets at least one of the four primary criteria
• How your group is set up and managed;
• Whether your application supports community action;
• Who will benefit from the grant;
• How your project has been costed;
• And the need for your project.

HOW MUCH CAN WE APPLY FOR?
Requests for up to a maximum of £3,000 will be considered for non-recurring (one-off) funding.
All funding received must be spent within 12 months.

Match Funding
100% of the total cost of your project may be eligible for funding. Match funding is not a requirement, however particular interest will be shown in projects that use a CAVO grant to secure further funding.
If the CAVO Enterprise and Improvement grant is to be used as match funding, the funding package must be in place within three months of the award being made.

APPLICATION PROCESS
Applications may be sent to CAVO at any time, and decisions will be made within 3 months of receiving your application.

Closing dates for the grant scheme will be as follows:
31/10/06 31/01/07 31/03/07 30/06/07 30/09/07 31/12/07 31/03/08
