DEVELOPMENT Resources

The CAVO Development Team consists of three members of staff, namely, Hazel Lloyd (Senior Development Officer) David Fretwell (Development Officer) and Angharad Eynon (Development Officer). Each officer has various focus areas which include Village Halls, Churches and Chapels, Children, Playgroups, Arts, Credit Unions, Sports, Ethnic Minorities, Communities First, Young People, Playgrounds, Housing, Elderly, Disability, Mental Health, Health & Social Care, Objective 1, Welsh Language, and the Environment.

The development team are here to provide a core service which includes giving information and support to voluntary and not for profit organisations. This includes information on funding (please see funding) setting up as a group, governing documents, policies, management and employment issues, financial management and accounting procedures, funding strategies, business plans and any other general information and support.

The Development Officers network as closely as possible with the public, private, and voluntary sector organisations and groups. As a result of this, Officer knowledge is key to the high standard of service the team try to deliver.

CAVO is represented on the Ceredigion Objective 1 Development Officer Group along with other advisory agencies which was established to consolidate existing resources to better advise and support the development of new initiatives. CAVO is also a member on the Community First Uplands Communities of Tregaron steering group and the Communities First West Aberystwyth and Penparcau Partnership Board.
If you would like further information, please contact us.

The Development Team are constantly exploring more innovative ways of providing information and support to groups on issues such as funding and project development.
The team already provide an outreach service to voluntary and not for profit groups throughout the County and this includes meeting with various Committees during the day and sometimes in the evening. The team strive to strengthen links with other support agencies therefore ensuring that the voluntary sector within the County get the comprehensive support they deserve.
