The CAVO Development
Team consists of three members of staff, namely, Hazel Lloyd (Senior
Development Officer) David Fretwell (Development Officer) and Angharad
Eynon (Development Officer). Each officer has various focus areas
which include Village Halls, Churches and Chapels, Children, Playgroups,
Arts, Credit Unions, Sports, Ethnic Minorities, Communities First,
Young People, Playgrounds, Housing, Elderly, Disability, Mental
Health, Health & Social Care, Objective 1, Welsh Language, and
the Environment.
The development team
are here to provide a core service which includes giving information
and support to voluntary and not for profit organisations. This
includes information on funding (please see funding) setting up
as a group, governing documents, policies, management and employment
issues, financial management and accounting procedures, funding
strategies, business plans and any other general information and
support.
The Development Officers
network as closely as possible with the public, private, and voluntary
sector organisations and groups. As a result of this, Officer knowledge
is key to the high standard of service the team try to deliver.
CAVO is represented
on the Ceredigion Objective 1 Development Officer Group along with
other advisory agencies which was established to consolidate existing
resources to better advise and support the development of new initiatives.
CAVO is also a member on the Community First Uplands Communities
of Tregaron steering group and the Communities First West Aberystwyth
and Penparcau Partnership Board.

The Development Team
are constantly exploring more innovative ways of providing information
and support to groups on issues such as funding and project development.
The team already provide an outreach service to voluntary and not
for profit groups throughout the County and this includes meeting
with various Committees during the day and sometimes in the evening.
The team strive to strengthen links with other support agencies
therefore ensuring that the voluntary sector within the County get
the comprehensive support they deserve.
