Hello!

Welcome to the Young People Volunteering page on

My name is Laura Rich, your Youth Volunteer Adviser. I am based with CAVO in Lampeter but cover the whole of Ceredigion. The post is funded through the Russell Commission whose aim is to “provide a step change in youth volunteering.” The post hopes to encourage, engage and inspire young people aged 16-25 years to become involved in voluntary activities throughout the county.
I will also update the website on a regular basis with news on schemes and voluntary opportunities, so please check it regularly!
You will also see a number of links throughout the site that will help you get an insight into Volunteering and the Russell Commission.

Age you aged 16-25?

If you are interested in becoming a volunteer and you are within the age range of 16-25 years then I am available to discuss with you volunteering/
Within Ceredigion there is a vast array of opportunities that are suited to young people who are enthusiastic about volunteering. These can range from working with sports to environmental conservation, working with organisations as a befriender or even within animal care.

For more information on the voluntary activities that are available to you then there is a Volunteering Wales website that is updated regularly.

Or alternatively you can contact me to arrange an informal discussion where we can go through in more detail the type of volunteering that would suit you, matching the options up with your skills, attributes, interests and commitments.

If you do want to browse check out the http://www.volunteering-wales.net

In my role I am also keen to recognise the commitment that young people put into voluntary activities. I am also able to provide you with information about hoe you can gain this recognition through a scheme called Millennium Volunteers. There is more information on Millennium Volunteers on this site
