| CAVO
is the county voluntary council (CVC) for Ceredigion. CAVO’s
aims are to promote, support and to co-ordinate the work of the
voluntary sector in Ceredigion, to act as a link between the voluntary
and statutory sectors and to promote and encourage good practice.
Detailed
aims
• To develop and promote the work of CAVO throughout the county
• To support voluntary organisations and encourage good practice
• To support and promote good practice in volunteering
• To encourage co-operation and collaboration between voluntary
organisations
• To encourage effective liaison and partnerships between
voluntary sector organisations, statutory agencies and the private
sector
• To develop and support new initiatives to meet unmet needs
• To empower local communities by encouraging participation
in development
• To identify, interpret and articulate the concerns of the
voluntary sector
Services
Available
• Free information support service including funding advice
and advice on setting up and all aspects of running a voluntary
or community organisation.
• Volunteer Bureau Service – provides information, advice
and support, on all matters relating to volunteering, to individuals
and organisations.
• Partnership working - representation on Partnerships and
dissemination of information on partnership working in county
• Accessible Training – identifying training needs and
providing training for the voluntary sector
• Community Transport Project - working in partnership to
initiate and promote community transport projects in Ceredigion
• Reduced costs for members for CAVO training courses, office
services and room hire.
How
to become a member
Membership is open to all voluntary and community groups
working in Ceredigion that meet the eligibility criteria. Organisations
that not eligible for full membership may be eligible for associate
or affiliated membership. Please see separate membership sheet for
more detailed membership criteria.
Accessibility
Information produced by CAVO will be presented in Welsh
and English as resources allow. We will endeavour to translate materials
received in only 1 language however where this is not possible,
or appropriate, the information will be reproduced in the language
in which it is received.
CAVO offices are fully accessible to users with restricted mobility.
Information can be produced in Large Print or Braille on request.
Our training room is equipped with a loop system for use by individuals
who use hearing aids.
