CAVO have access to a wide range of model and example policies. We do not put these documents up on our website for groups to directly download. We do not do this because it is rare that even a model document is suitable for a group to adopt without consideration and possible modification. Policies need to be discussed and understood before they are adopted as they govern how an organisation is run. A member of our development team can discuss your requirements with you and suggest any areas you may need to consider when looking for the right policy for your group or organisation . We can then e-mail or send any relevant documents to you. As with all good practice the number and complexity of the policies you need is related to the size, structure and nature of your group and its work. For small community groups you will probably  only need a simple, basic set of policies.

Having the right policies in place is an essential part of good management and often a requiremnt for applying for funding, however, as with many tools, they need to be used and checked and updated regularly. An annual review date should be built into any policy to ensure that it is not left on the shelf to gather dust.
