Articles are submitted by the relevant organisations or copied from information sheets and newsletters. Information produced by CAVO will be presented in Welsh and English. Materials received in only one language, will be reproduced in the language in which it is received.
HRUK and SUBWAY® Healthy Heart Grants are a result of the partnership between national charity, Heart Research UK, and
SUBWAY® stores. Money for these grants has been raised through in-store regional fundraising by SUBWAY® stores. These grants are awarded on a region by region basis at different times of the year.
Community groups in SUBWAY®’s Wales region, can now apply to Heart Research UK for these grants.
How much is available?
Grants of up to £10,000
What type of projects will you fund?
Funding is available for innovative projects designed to promote heart health and to prevent or reduce the risks of heart disease in specific groups, or communities.
Who can apply?
Currently, only community groups in SUBWAY®’s Wales region can apply for grants. The Wales region includes towns and cities such as Abergavenny, Aberware, Aberystwyth, Ammanford, Bangor, Barry, Bridgend, Caernarfon, Caerphilly, Cardiff, Carmarthen, Cwmbran, Flint, Haverfordwest, Holywell, Llandudno, Llanelli, Merthyr Tydfil, Mold, Neath, Newport, Northop, Pontypridd, Queensferry, Rhyl, Swansea, Tenby and Wrexham. Community groups and voluntary organisations who are spreading the Healthy Heart message can apply. Government or local authority funded institutions are not supported, however, community and voluntary groups aided by public money may apply.

The closing date for applications is 31 July 2012.
