Volunteering with Ceredigion Social Services CAVO Volunteer Centre is responsible for recruiting, screening and supporting Social Services volunteers.
Who are volunteers?
Volunteers can be anyone who has a few hours to spare, and who enjoys working with a wide variety of people. Volunteers need to be 18 years of age and above for most volunteer roles.
What do volunteers do? Volunteers may be placed with an individual user or group of users of Social Services. Volunteers work mainly in a support/befriending role with service users and are complementary to paid staff. Volunteers can get involved in the following projects:
- Volunteer driver scheme
- Befriending/support volunteering
- Volunteering young people
Volunteers may be involved in a range of activities with services- users for example:
- Calling on someone for a chat
- Accompanying users on shopping trips
- Transporting user to visit child for contact
All volunteers are required to complete a registration form, to produce two appropriate references and complete a CRB disclosure form (Police check). For more information please contact Enid Heneghan on 0800 328 0940 or at
