Advocacy West Wales is an independent user-led charitable organisation providing

Independent Advocacy Services in West Wales.  An exciting opportunity has arisen for the continued development of advocacy services and we are looking to recruit to the following role:

Bi-Lingual Independent Professional Advocate – Ceredigion

Based substantially in Aberystwyth with travel across Ceredigion.

This is a new position, working for AWW on behalf of The Resilience Hub Partnership, following the award of a 12 month contract to provide Independent Professional Advocacy in Ceredigion. Combination of 1:1 advocacy, drop-in sessions and workshops developing self-advocacy and carers’ rights.

Salary:

£25,440 per annum full time equivalent after qualification as an Independent Advocate

£22,937 per annum full time equivalent whilst unqualified.

Hours:  22 hours per week to be worked flexibly Monday to Friday.

Fixed Term Contract 1 August 2019 to 30 September 2020, ongoing subject to further funding beyond 1 October 2020.

Extensive induction and training provided and you will need to commit to completion of the Independent Advocacy Qualification.

Posts are subject to satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks.

Own transport is essential.

The ability to provide bi-lingual service (oral and written) in Welsh and English is essential.
