The Home Office is pleased to announce that the sixth round of the Places of Worship (POW) Protective Security Funding Scheme is now open for applications until 23:59 on the 2nd July 2021.
The Places of Worship Protective Security Funding Scheme is a key commitment of the 2016-2020 Hate Crime Action Plan. To date, more than 240 places of worship have been awarded grants through the scheme, enabling them to install measures such as protective alarms, security lighting and access controls.
The scheme is open to places of worship and associated faith community centres (we define this as a community centre run by a place of worship or near a place of worship that is faith based, and where regular worship takes place) across England and Wales.
Further details of the funding scheme and how to apply are provided via the link below.
Please do share this link with your networks and on your social media pages, as well as the attached information leaflet. In light of Covid-19 we will not be undertaking any promotional events in person, but we are keen to promote the scheme online as widely as possible throughout the application period. To help us do this, please contact us at SecurityfundingCED@homeoffice.gov.uk if you have online meetings or events over the next few weeks that we could join.
