We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Youth Engagement Officer for our new project ‘Resilient Youth for Wales’. The team at Aber Food Surplus have recently received Welsh government funding through the WCVA and Volunteering Wales to employ a part time member of staff for a fixed term contract until 25/02/2022, for 16 hours/week, £25,000 pro rata. 

Aber Food Surplus are a pioneering not-for-profit social enterprise focused on tackling food waste and delivering meaningful community change. We aim to tackle the root causes of problems and do this in a collaborative, creative and constructive way. We are looking for an energetic Youth Engagement Officer to join our team and deliver a short-term project supporting young people to explore external issues (food systems and climate change action), personal skills (growing and cooking food) and internal growth (encouraging collaboration, critical thinking, confidence and independence) contributing to their well-being and resilience. The Youth Engagement Officer is required to be a reliable and confident leader, you will coordinate a fun, engaging and meaningful programme of activities for the young people to take-part in, and will be responsible for the smooth and safe running of the activities and safeguarding.
