First Aid Community Training

CAVO Community First Aid Grant Application scheme aims to fund local organisations/groups to help build resilience in Ceredigion communities by providing basic first aid training across the County. Applications are welcomed from organisations for sessions which are open and accessible to everyone in the community. Access can be offered to volunteers and paid staff ONLY if there are spare places.   Grants are for £500 to cover costs of training, room hire, publicity and associated costs. Ceredigion: Tackling Food Poverty & Addressing Food Insecurity

The scheme offers grants of up to £1,000 capital funding per application to eligible organisations. These funds are intended to support projects that directly address food poverty and enhance food security among the most vulnerable populations in Ceredigion.

The grant scheme is open to non-profit organisations, community groups, and other entities dedicated to alleviating food insecurity within the county. Example projects include:

  • To support organisations to access, store and distribute additional supplies of food, boosting their capacity to provide good quality, nutritious food to their customers.
  • To purchase equipment like fridges, freezers and cooking equipment or IT equipment (to help facilitate a system of electronic referrals and contact with customers).
  • To purchase equipment that helps local food partnerships and community organisations to support food-related projects that help tackle the root causes of food poverty. For example, the development of local food growing and distribution initiatives.

Communities Count

This is a unique opportunity for community groups and social enterprises active in Ceredigion to receive financial support to organise activities to improve numeracy skills within their community.

The Communities Count will support projects that develop numeracy skills and confidence in individuals through community activities.in Ceredigion.  Activities must involve adults aged 19 and over and those who do not have a maths level 2 qualification or equivalent (GCSE grade C or equivalent), but activities can be open to all.

Youth Led Grants

Youth Led Grants are back for 2024! This is the chance for people aged 14-25 to apply for funding for the projects that matter to them. Up to £2000 is available for projects that young people believe will promote volunteering to their peers.

Applications are welcome from groups of young people aged 14-25.

Ceredigion: Ein Cartref, Ein Cynefin (Local Place for Nature, Small Grants Scheme)

The aim of this scheme is to restore and enhance natural assets and to deliver nature on your doorstep where people live, work and access public services. The scheme is funded by the Welsh Government’s Local Places for Nature fund through Ceredigion Local Nature Partnership.

This is capital funding – it can be used to buy ‘things’ but not pay for ongoing costs like salaries or general running costs. Up to £5,000 per application.

The Caring Communities Grant Scheme

The Scheme is calling for project ideas in Ceredigion that build community capacity and resilience in order to develop services and support that will:

  • promote emotional health and wellbeing,
  • bring people of all ages together and help them build social connections,
  • enable people to maintain their independence and remain at home, avoiding unnecessary hospital admissions and delayed discharges;
  • offer early support and prevent the escalation of needs.

The Scheme will consider funding 100% of project costs up to £20,000. The funding is primarily for revenue costs. It must be demonstrated that any capital costs included are critical to the success of the project.

Application Deadlines:

  • Round 1 – 31st July 2023, 5pm
  • Round 2 – 29th September 2023, 5pm

Applications will be assessed and grant award notification sent within one month of the application deadline.
Projects must be completed and monitoring forms returned within 12 months of grant award notification.
