The first cohort of the GAWV programme have recently completed a 9 week programme with the Open University (OU) in Wales. The programme was developed in partnership with CAVO, C3SC, SvSC and WCVA in order to produce something that would add value to the third sector and assist with upskilling and retention of volunteers.
Consisting of volunteers from across the regions participants gained skills in leadership, awareness of OU pathways, completed OpenLearn courses and discussed imposter syndrome and confidence building. Content was accessed via a Wakelet and recordings of workshops shared for participants to recap.
A total of 25 attendees completed the programme and were awarded certificates and testimonials to celebrate their success.
A thorough evaluation is now underway which we hope will inform the next steps and planned delivery for early in 2024.
