Population Assessments must be undertaken every five years, with input from people who use services, unpaid carers and colleagues in the third and independent sectors. The next West Wales Population Assessment is due to be published at the end of March 2022 and work on gathering information and data has begun.

The Social Services and Wellbeing (Wales) Act 2014 requires local authorities and Local Health Boards to produce a Population Assessment of their region that identifies: the need for care and support; the support needs for carers in their region; the range of services required; how far the needs identified are being met and how services will be delivered in Welsh.

A key element of the process is capturing the views of people who use care and support services and of unpaid carers in the region. We would very much welcome your contribution to this survey, which is running until October 31st 2021.
