Energy for Tomorrow (EfT) fund – Deadline 4th November

“I wanted to share details of a fund that we’ve just opened in Wales which could support organisations in your constituency who have a bright idea to tackle climate change, lower energy bills and deliver a real impact to people and communities.
 
 We are searching for big thinkers seeking to bring affordable, accessible and sustainable energy to their local communities. If you’re aware of an innovative energy scheme in your constituency who might benefit, or want to highlight availability of the fund, we are inviting grant applications to receive up to £100,000, plus expert support to bring the idea to life through our Energy for Tomorrow (EfT) fund. 
 
 By way of background, EfT is a not-for-profit social impact scheme created by British Gas owner Centrica. We established it with a mission to help tackle climate change and empower communities and entrepreneurs who have initiatives that can deliver affordable, accessible and sustainable energy solutions for all. We want to help green innovations and community projects that will help Wales reach net zero – in particular, projects that demonstrate one or more of the following: 

  • Support sustainable and innovative solutions that reduce carbon emissions by transforming how communities manage their energy – and help Wales reach net zero.
  • Engaging individuals to better understand how they impact the environment and inspire them to do things differently for a more sustainable future.
  • Helping communities to collaborate and use energy in a more sustainable way, while providing a powerful vision for their future.

EfT offers funding, expertise and support to initiatives that can help accelerate the energy transition and enable a more inclusive and sustainable future for our communities. We welcome applications from charities, community interest companies, registered community groups, not-for-profit and for-profit companies. Applications are now open – with a deadline of 4th November – and further information on applications through Energy for Tomorrow is available here.”
